About Me

About Spitfire Designs Jewelry

Founded in 2004 by me, Holly Thomas, Spitfire Designs Jewelry creates unique, handcrafted pieces for discerning clients. What began as a creative exploration at a local gem show has evolved into a creative endeavor and business that has been moving and shaking for over two decades.  There are ups and downs, but guess what?  I am still here and I'll die with stones in my hands.  Possibly.

My Story

My self-taught approach to jewelry making stems from a lifelong passion for the arts, influenced by family traditions and artists across the board that go back multiple generations. It's in the genes, folks.  My background in fashion design and communications from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (now Jefferson University) and Temple University provides a strong foundation for both design aesthetics and advertising.

Worth Mentioning

Spitfire Designs has been featured by notable clients and venues, including:

  • Television personality Cecily Tynan, who wears some of my pieces on Action News
  • Pottery Barn and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts as a featured artist
  • Prestigious events such as the Bayberry Gala
  • Regional shows across Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, and New Hampshire

Each piece is designed as a one-of-a-kind creation for one-of-a-kind individuals. We maintain long-standing relationships with both clients and artisan partners, ensuring consistent quality and personal service that has sustained the business for over 21 years.

Additional Expertise

I also bring professional makeup artistry experience, working as a freelance artist for Estée Lauder brands including MAC and Clinique off and on since 1998. This dual expertise in visual arts enhances the aesthetic sensibility that defines Spitfire Designs' distinctive style.  Art tends to branch out, which is what I love.   Artists rarely stay with one medium.
